Minutes of the regular meeting of the Community Council held on Tuesday 4 October 2011 at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall

The regular meeting of the community council was held immediately after the AGM.

Present: S. Clark, J. Ellis, T. Fulton, G. Lethorn, H. Martin, D. McKenzie, M. Mills, E. O'Hare, G. Svenson.
Apologies :-  S. Liddell, H. Tidswell.
Minutes of the previous meeting and matters arising:
It was pointed out that S. Clark was not on the board of the Bridge but a member of the steering group.
The minutes were proposed by H. Martin and seconded by M. Mills.

There was no police report however the theft of jewellery and cash from a 94 year old lady in the village was brought to the attention of the meeting. It would appear that it was possibly carried out by several men who approached householders regarding tree pruning etc.

The  previous planning application for the building of a dwelling house within the grounds of a listed  building has been withdrawn and a new application made with different boundaries has been  lodged.  It was agreed that the community council should make an objection as the application does not make reference to bringing the listed building, Hermiston, up to standard and it could also set a precedent.
Xmas Lights switch on will be 7th December as previously agreed.
Local Area Committee:

H. Martin attended the recent  Local Area Committee meeting but stated that nothing pertaining to Bridge of Weir was discussed.
As there was no other competent business the meeting was closed.
Date and time of next meeting:

The next meeting of the Community Council will be held on Tuesday 1st November at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall.
