BRIDGE OF WEIR COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Of the regular meeting of the Community Council held on Tuesday 2nd October 2012 at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall.
PRESENT: S Clark, S Liddell, J Ellis, T Fulton, G Lethorn, H Martin, D McKenzie, M Mills, P. Allan.
N Johnstone [Weir Saving the Village] Councillor’s J MacLaren, M Holmes, M Brown.

Police Report : The Police Report was given by PC A Maclwraith.
There were 9 reported crimes with a 30% detection rate.
3 thefts, 2 from motor vehicles one at the Co-op Supermarket and at C H Bull
Vandalism at Lintwhite Court.
Misuse of drugs in Main Street.
Police were asked if anyone had been hurt at the car incident at Burndale Kitchens. Officers attending the meeting were not aware of the incident because traffic would deal with that, but they would try to report back tonight.
Councillors Report:The meeting had already been informed about the success of Moss Road Park. Dawn Developments had pursued the three Councillors who refused to meet with them until they met with members of the community. It was stated that the Council would continue to maintain the park.
Neva Place Improvements; there are still some outstanding issues about the frontageover ownership and parking. However as the condition of Neva Place has now become a health and safety issue the Council may be in a position where they have to improve the area as it has become a danger to the public.
Allotment Society; They had expressed an interest in Hazelwood Park but this must be maintained as a public open space. They would need to find the owners to get permission for change of use.
The Secretary stated that she is continually sending letters to appropriate departments but on many occasions neither receives an acknowledgement nor reply. Cllr Holmes asked what had recently been sent and would try and get answers.
In future complaints about roads etc will be kept on the agenda until action is taken.
The flooding at the bottom of Freeland Road / Houston Road is still an ongoing problem.
Treasurers Report: This was covered at the A.G.M.
Planning: The Community Council does not expect to hear anything of the Main Issues Report until November at the earliest.
Christmas Lights: The Glow Wands and necklaces, and a megaphone have already been purchased.
To get the best price for the chocolates they will be purchased very soon.
We will also have to find a new Santa for the event.
Ladeside Project: This will probably be a three year project. Kate Cuthbertson, Access Officer, Renfrewshire Council is looking into the land ownership. This information will be given to the Community Council who do not see any problems as this is a Heritage site.
A.O.C.B. The Disabled bays at Livery Walk Car Park require repainting. The meeting was informed by a member that the car park is to be resurfaced and relined.
The next regular meeting of the Community Council will be held on Tuesday 6th November at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall.
