The community police officers informed the meeting that should any vehicles be observed near garages should be reported. There had been five garages targeted within the area.

Secretary’s Report:

The Secretary reported that she had received the consultation for the traffic regulation in Woodside Avenue.
She had also written to Renfrewshire Council about the Park and Stride at Houston Road, an Officer from the Council had made contact with her and T Fulton who lives in the area.

Treasurer’s Report:

Planning Report:

Local Plan: –
No further information has been received regarding our input to the main issues.
A visitor to the meeting stated that there should be a report on Renfrewshire Council’s web site, however it was pointed out that due to the time required there may not be anything definite until October.

Dawn Developments cancelled the arranged meeting therefore it was felt that it should be left at present, and will leave it up to Dawn Developments to contact the Community Council when they are in a position to do so.
It was pointed out that any question put to Renfrewshire Council that is considered to be "Simple" should not cost more than £600 and does not require the use of Freedom of Information legislation.
Objections have been made to Renfrewshire Council regarding the proposed building of dwelling houses at the Ranfurly Castle Golf Club.

Traffic Restrictions:

40mph signs have now gone up between Bridge of Weir and Houston.

The proposed restrictions on parking in the area around the primary school and the nursery have generated complaints from the residents in the area. The council want to enforce a restricted parking notice which would mean that no vehicles other than residents would be allowed during the restricted hours, giving concern about visitors, tradesmen, services etc. The Community Council have objected to this and have said to Renfrewshire Council that the congestion at the primary school and the Park and Stride at Houston Road Park should have been considered together. The Community Council has also questioned how the restrictions would be enforced.
The meeting agreed that a letter should be sent to Renfrewshire Council requesting further information.
Another request is to be made regarding the time scale for the repair of the wall between Bridge of Weir and Houston.
The planning Manager of the Co-operative Supermarkets contacted "Weir Saving Our Village" to arrange a meeting to discuss various proposals and their chairperson invited representatives of both the Community Council and TARA to attend the meeting.

PLAY DAY-  Moss Road Park:

Unfortunately it has not been possible to obtain the Petting Zoo that had been suggested for that day however it is hoped to provide an alternative.
The Bouncy Castle has been hired, the local football team have agreed to provide equipment and personnel for Beat the Goalie but there have not been any responses yet from St Machar’s Church, St Mary’s Church or the Scouts.

There will be a meeting arranged for sometime next week to finalise details.

The Treasurer contacted Zurich Insurance regarding Public Liability Insurance and was informed that the policy held by the Community Council is adequate.

The date for the next meeting:

The next regular meeting of the Community Council will take place on Tuesday 26 June at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall.
