Minute of the regular meeting of the Community Council
held on Tuesday 2nd June 2015 at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall.
Present: S Clark, J Farquhar, T Fulton, F Hewitt, S Lafferty, S Liddell, H Martin, D McKenzie, M McClements, E O’Hare. Councillor MacLaren.
Apologies: P Allan, G Lethorn.
Visitors: PC Phil Moir, B MacDougall, T Brennan.
Minute of Previous Meeting and Matters Arising:
No matters arising. Minute approved by J Farquhar, seconded by M McClements.
PC Moir reported 43 incidents within Bridge of Weir and 10 crime reports, these included;
2 housebreakings, 2 thefts, a gas radiator and lead from a roof.
2 Breach of the Peace A fraud involving £400. 1 Breach of bail.
Margaret Mills had intimated she would be standing down and not seeking re-election in the forthcoming elections.
Treasurer’s Report: Circulated.
Shillingworth, a revised notice was posted in the Gazette that the number of houses proposed had been reduced from 50 to 43.
Nothing on Bull’s site.
Nothing further on the proposed solar panel application.
The Convener has spoken to the developer on Whitelint Gate, they are still not in a position to have a public consultation.
Roads, Transport and Ground Maintenance:
The lights at Livery Walk have been burning for 24 hours for a period of six months.
The resurfacing will take place from 3rd August, will enquire if it is the whole car park and what arrangements will be in place for parking.
The meeting with McGill’s buses has been cancelled and re-arranged for the following week.
It’s been reported that the 19 bus is always running late. Some drivers were not aware that certain roads were closed due to works.
The Treasurer reported that he had met with the Deputy of Great Western Auctions about the proposed Antique Valuation Day. Around 7th /8th October a Wednesday or Thursday were the preferred dates fitting in with Anita Manning’s filming duties. A fee would probably be fixed at £10 per person allowing 2 items to be valued for that.
There may be a possibility of getting additional lights, and where they would go, advice from John Wallace is required before we go further on this.
Councillor’s Report: Councillor MacLaren. Report circulated.
It was reported that the meeting arranged for May had been postponed until 15 June.
The Secretary said that in her capacity as Chair along with the Secretary would be meeting with both the Director of Community Resources and Head of Finance prior to the next Forum meeting.
Annual General Meeting.
Some members are concerned over the noise of the Zumba class which is held at the same time, complaints are, depending where you are sitting in the room you cannot hear what is being said. A decision will be made at the AGM if we move our meetings to another venue.

The next regular meeting of the Community Council will take place on Tuesday 1st September at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall.
This will be the final meeting of the present community council before the elections in September, all present members will stand down.
