Scottish League (Canada Cup)  Bridge of Weir 3   Glasgow University 1

"Glasgow University showed improvement in their form in this game at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night although the score justly represents the merits of the respective sides.

The winners worked with better balance and were more methodical in action. Glasgow University attempted to combine but they were not accurate enough in passing to circumvent the steady Bridge of Weir defenders. With J A Easton playing in defence, the University were sounder behind than hitherto.

Bridge of Weir started off well and R E Muirhead scored after an individual effort. Bridge of Weir were playing brilliantly at this stage and only good work by A E Robertson in the University goal saved the students. W M Muirhead added a second goal for Bridge of Weir with a fine shot from the wing. Easton thereafter made a commendable effort for Glasgow University but A Ross affected a great one handed save. The first period ended with Bridge of Weir leading by two goals to nil.

Bridge of Weir were still the better side at the commencement of the second period and G D Rowley scored a magnificent third goal with an un-saveable shot. Then Easton again tried hard to find an opening for the University but force of numbers repeatedly defeated him and Bridge of Weir led by three goals to nil at the end of the second period.

In the final period, Bridge of Weir slackened off somewhat and Easton scored a brilliant goal for University with a shot which entered the net high up at the corner.
