Scottish League (Canada Cup)  Bridge of Weir 1   Mohawks 4

"Mohawks secured an emphatic league victory over Bridge of Weir at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night thus strengthening considerably their position as second top club to Kelvingrove in the competition.

The game, which in the early stages gave promise of providing a thrilling and exhilarating encounter, latterly degenerated into a scramble and several incidents of heated temper and doubtful tactics did little credit to either club. Bridge of Weir were the more obvious offenders.

I S McLeod gave Bridge of Weir an early lead by scoring in the first minute but Mohawks smarter and more methodical moves gave them the better of the exchanges although most of their attacks were well countered by W G McDonald and M D Brennan. J Campbell skated through on two occasions before W Fullerton made his way past the Bridge of Weir defence for a brilliant goal.

Bridge of Weir were decidedly on top for the greater part of the second period and were unfortunate not to score on more than one occasion poor finishing spoiled a number of chances. The brothers McLeod and McDonald all had opportunities in turn but the only goal of the period was scored by J Fullerton for Mohawks.

A smart breakaway by W Fullerton in the final period resulted in a third goal and a similar move by J Fullerton added yet another goal to Mohawks total."
