Scottish League (Canada Cup)  Bridge of Weir 0   Kelvingrove 1

"Kelvingrove were definitely lucky to collect both points in this vital league match at Crossmyloof last night. At times, they were outplayed but D Cross in goal saved them, then when the chance of winning the match came to C McMillan, he took it brilliantly. Bridge of Weir played up with the courage born of despair for they realised that defeat almost certainly meant sacrificing the championship which they won last year to Kelvingrove. The west-enders with a game in hand now lead the league by two points.

The game was remarkable for the amount of splendid checking indulged in the result being that combination among the forwards was seldom in evidence. Bridge of Weir usually attacked with thrusts down the centre and in the first period, W S McLeod and W G McDonald gave Cross some anxious moments.

W M Muirhead hit the post in the second period and M DBrennan, McDonald and I S McLeod all had fine shots held by Cross.

Kelvingrove had more of the play towards the final whistle and A S Dick with a swerving dash tricked the defence before passing the puck to McMillan who coolly steadied himself and shot into the corner of the net."

Bridge of Weir: A Ross; M D Brennan and W G McDonald; W S McLeod, I S McLeod and W M Muirhead.- J K Woodrow, A F Reid and D Buchanan.

Kelvingrove: D Cross; A S Dick and A Fullerton; W S Montford, A J Tingley and C McMillan.- R D Gemmell, J Beveridge and W J Towers.
