Scottish League (Canada Cup)   Bridge of Weir 1   Mohawks 0

"Bridge of Weir defeated Mohawks by a single goal in a hard fought and spirited league encounter at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night. The winners had the greater share of the attack in which they were definitely superior while the whole side were more determined and surer in defence.

Bridge of Weir's go-ahead methods took them to close quarters at the outset when splendid shots were delivered by W S McLeod and W G McDonald. Further intricate and well distributed wing to wing play continued to give them the better of matters. Mohawks had fewer attacks but likely shots were delivered by the Fullerton brothers and J G Fyfe.

Weak finishing by W S McLeod spoiled a good opening for Bridge of Weir after changing ends but M D Brennan was much nearer the mark with two shots which tested D McLachlan. A run by J Fullerton followed for Mohawks but W Fullerton's shot was easily blocked while J Campbell was twice in position but finished poorly. A pass from behind the Mohawks goal by I S McLeod was then turned to account by W M Muirhead to give Bridge of Weir the lead. A clever raid saw Brennan right up to Mohawks goal but his shot was turned aside.

Mohawks had the puck in the net following the third period face off but the goal was disallowed. Long range shots by McDonald and then Campbell followed. W Fullerton broke through cleverly for Mohawks but to no avail. W S McLeod scored but was right adjudged offside at the other end. W Fullerton was a shade unfortunate when after good leading up work, A Ross fumbled the finishing shot."
